In this series of infographics, we first launched the history of Google infographics. For obvious reasons Tamar's SEO team was tasked to compile the data. Now, Tamar's SEO team also has few freshers and as the head of SEO I thought assigning the data collection to the freshers would be the best lesson I could give them to help build their foundation. The plan worked and I was glad to see their interest in SEO escalate, which works wonderfully for the team.

Names of some of the algorithm updates were certainly the most discussed topics. If you look at the infographic and pay attention to the way updates have been laid out, 2012 looks like a Manhattan skyline. When I said this out loud across the office floor, everyone thought that they must have missed adding an algorithm called Manhattan, lol!
Anyway my final and most important tip to my young SEOrs was not to chase an algorithm but to focus on optimizing, which goes far beyond updating meta titles or building links.
